Bellinis and Brunch at The Modern Pantry.
Just a short walk from Farringdon tube station you'll find a charming space to eat with exciting twists on your typical brunch. The Modern Pantry doesn't have much avocado on offer, instead you'll find deliciously clean brunch dishes, experimental snacks and small plates of fruits, grains and yoghurts.
Whether you're a fried, poached or scrambled kinda person, there's a few accompaniments you might want to pick from. We tried one lot of poached eggs, with grilled chorizo, slow-roasted tomatoes and plantain fritters and another with fried halloumi and wilted spinach.
Perfectly soft, runny eggs were delicious with the salty halloumi and the garlicky roasted toms. We also ordered two poached eggs with a tea smoked salmon fillet balanced on top. Served on english muffins, yuzu hollandaise and hazelnut and macadamia dukkah, these aren't your typical eggs benny. If that's not got you salivating, you've also got the choice of beetroot fitters with ricotta or salmon sashimi with black sesame dressing on the weekend menu.
If you're up to the challenge, bottomless brunch is priced at £18 and there are some gorgeous drinks on offer. We had a spicy Bloody Mary and a couple of light, summery Lychee, Raspberry and Rose bellinis. If you're having a healthier weekend, there's plenty of liquid goodness on the menu too. Check out the smoothie of the day or try their passion fruit, turmeric, banana and honey smoothie instead.
